We stayed in the canvas tents, and it was really our only reasonable alternative other than bringing our camping gear with us. A small military-style tent with a couple of cots and a hanging bulb... all for $70 US dollars!

Not a comfortable sleep by any stretch of the imagination but you couldn't been the atmosphere and the location in the heart of Yosemite Village. Never mind watching the bears just saunter by the doorstep. A little surreal but not really worth the price.
