The journey from PE to Durban was amazing. Finally real Africa, we saw endless tiny villages in the hills with one room houses and rondevals some of them brightly coloured, very basic and the majority with no electricity and maybe no water as ladies were washing their clothes in the rivers. We drove through Butterworth and other unpronouncable named towns which were so busy with so much going on, food sold on the street, school children in immaculate uniforms queuing to use the phone stations. It was a long journey but a real eye opener, many of the children walked and walked to get home from school. Towards the evening we were driving from Port St John to Durban through the hills there were so many football games going on between all the small villages. It was a really interesting journey.
