Well, we waited at the border for our turn to declare our reason for wanting to cross into Canada.  We pulled up and they asked us the routine questions.  It all seemed to be going well until the guard asked us to pull over.  We were asked to step out of the car and it was searched.  "Why are you hiding your cigarettes in your suitcase?"  We of course were not hiding our cigarettes, but you really only need a pack or two in the car at a time.  We were whisked away to what I describe as the holding cell.  It was a glass room inside a room.  We were then called to the window to explain why we were travelling without passports or birth certificates.  No, we were lectured..."Why would you travel to a foreign country without passports?"  We were left to sit in the fish bowl until we were released and told we were now stuck in Canada because surely the US would never let us back across the border.  We checked into our hotel and headed to the Windsor Casino which was pretty nice.  They had a lovely waterfront that looked across to Detroit.  We then made our plans to escape Canada.  If we were in fact not allowed across the border without proper identification...we would swim acrosss the river and into Detroit...no problem.  We ate a decent dinner at the buffet and gambled a little, and hit the hay.  Windsor?  c+
