After a great nights sleep Dan wakes us up at sunrise, about 6.30 & this is the plan for the next 7 days too... joy! We have brekkie around the fire, pack up the truck & head off to Lennard Gorge.
The trek down to the waterfall is pretty hard going, its almost a rock climb, we clamber down to the bottom and then hang onto the rocks as we edge around the corner to our lil spot. the place is gorgeous, the fall is so high and crashing down, makes so much noice its awesome. We all jump straight in and swim up to the waterfall bottom. The current is well strong near the base & its fun trying to get out on the rocks.
Gemma, Nikki, Anne and me do some jumping in off the rocks on the otherside & then Dan & the boys go up to high places to jump off into the pool, Gemma & Nikki join then for the 30ft + jumps, I'm quite happy down here though. the climb up to the jump spots looks just as scary as the jumping off. They do a huge jump off from the top of the waterfall, must be a good 100ft drop. Its wicked. They crazy! We have a snack then climb up the rocks back outta the gorge, this isn't easy with no hands so Richie carries my water in his bag, which I will be bringing from now on!
Lunch break is at Imitji then we drive to Adcock Gorge, This is instead of Bell Gorge which is still closed from Wet season. Its a nice flat walk this time along a river to a shady plunge pool at the end. Everyone jumps in again & are soon finding spots to jump in off, the boys all climb right up the top of the waterfall and walk round the gorge rim to a point which is about 150ft + off the pool. We all wonder if they're crazy enough to jump, it doesn't even look like they'd make it to water. Luckily they're sightseeing not jumping & come back down to a 60ft jump spot. I have a lotta fun diving in off the other side of the pool its only about 6ft but fun all the same. I do a bit of a belly flop though & slap my thighs against the surface of the water, when I get up I can just hear everyone saying 'ouch' my thighs are tingling well, must work on my entry!
Its a proper bush camp tonight, no toilets, no showeres, no nothing just our group, campfire and swags for sleeping in. Its perfect !
