The Windsor has recently opened as a backpackers and has the feel of a motel converted to backpackerswith former church thrown in. It was empty for the most part, had 3 long term residents, provided refuge from a raging rain storm and had possibly the nicest owners/hosts of any hostel we encountered on the North Island
