Review of Ardeo

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday celebration meal here and have decided that Ardeo is one of those hidden neighborhood gems that deserves to be discovered by more people. Ardeo is a modern American restaurant in an upper Northwest neighborhood that has only recently (in the past five years) become recognized as a "foodie" destination.

We weren't sure what to expect, but had selected the restaurant because of its sister wine bar next door (Bardeo) and the fact that it had space available for our party on short notice (the day before).  Our expectations were met, and then some.  Ardeo's food is sublime and the service was very good.  The atmosphere is much more sophisticated than one might expect from Cleveland Park and quite enjoyable (not at all snotty or pretentious).  The restaurant also boasts a roof deck (which we didn't check out), meaning that it offers a little something for everyone. 

Now don't all rush out to Ardeo at once: we want to be able to get a reservation again for ourselves!
