After years of pretty much sitting behind a computer, my feet didn't know what hit them yesterday.
Our first full day in Washington DC begun with what every Brad and Lisa holiday begins with.... an overdose of walking.
The first aid kit has already taken battering, sorting out our cuts and blisters - nevertheless it was worth it; Washington DC rocks.
Spent a foggy morning walking down to the Capitol building which houses the Senate and House of Representatives, I won't bore you with US politics though. We walked up The Mall which many of you will recognise from movies or news stories - it's where Washington turns out for rallies, protests, parties, concerts, etc. It is also where all the museums are. Loads of them too, all free.
In the middle of The Mall is the Washington Monument a massive obelisk which when we arrived was obscured by the fog. But not for long as the sun slowly came out and the rest of the day was stifling - 34 degrees.
The highlight of the day for me was the Lincoln Memorial which is at the end of The Mall. It has a very loooong reflective pool leading up to it which makes it very picturesque and has an monstrous statue of Lincoln sitting in a chair in it's centre.
Today, I have a meeting with POTUS (President Of The United States) at the White House. He wanted to make it early, but i prefer to sleep in.

IT confused Heather! says:
So I probabily don't know you? I worked with Lisa in ECG.
HappyAndrew says:
Not unless you were a student nurse back in the 90s and our paths crossed then, although I cant say I know a Heather..... yet.. maybe we will meet at Lisa's when she invites us to the house warming
IT confused Heather! says:
No, in the 90s I was raising 2 children! Didn't go Ham Hosp until late 90s, approx '98. I feel I'm not paying enough attention to Lisa and Brad at the moment. Catch up with you along their journey.
