Okay, pretty much I have just put up some random pictures from Warwick from this term and last term. It's amazing here!! It's easier here than UCLA, partially because I'm pretty much just doing history and I can write history papers unnaturally fast. Classes last a year long and this is what I'm taking:

British Economy in the 20th Century
Revolutions and Enlightenments in France, 1715-1814
Medicine, Disease and Society in Britain, 1750-1950
Caribbean History

I like them all, but my Econ class is really boring... and unfortunately, that is the only one I actually have a final exam for, so I can't just write a paper and be done. For the other three I will have a 4500 word paper for each (about 16 pages, so that is at least 48 pages of papers in the beginning of term 3... I might die... lol).

What else. I've done a little bit of traveling around England. I visited Jessie in Bristol last term, and that was really fun. Very different from Warwick. I went to my friend Andy's house part of this one weekend and that was really cool because I got to see an actual British house. His family was really cool (his sister laughed at my accent constantly). His house is big by British standards, but it is so different from American houses. Anyway, so that was in Leicester, about 40 minutes away from here (though it took us longer because it was snowing). And I've been to Coventry and Leamington Spa a couple of times because they are the nearest cities (about 15-20 minutes away by bus). And last Saturday I went shopping in Birmingham which is about 30 minutes away. It is huge and the mall there is amazing!!! I loved it. This Saturday I think we are going to Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare), so that should be fun. And in a couple of weekends a bunch of my floormates and I are going to try and go to London and see Phantom of the Opera!! Next term I might to go Kent (in the south, Canterbury), and Edinburgh if I get a chance.

So I got to experience my first real snow!! It snowed this one night and there was a giant snowball fight between different halls. And then about 1 1/2 weeks ago it snowed for 2 days!! It was amazing! My friend came to my door at like, 9AM and was like, "I know you're probably annoyed because of how early it is, but look outside." And it was snowing and EVERYTHING was covered in snow!! It was gorgeous!! I freaking loved it! My class was canceled (not that I would have gone anyway) so some of us just played in the snow for a few hours. That night we went out and played for another couple of hours and I'm telling you, that is freakishly exhausting!! Anyway, so yay for snow!! Apparently that was a lot more than Warwick usually has, so yay! No more I'm sure, but the rainy season I think may be approaching... it hasn't rained nearly as much as I expected. But we shall see...

Well, I just finished a paper (on insane asylums) last night so I have some free time finally. We need to start planning spring break. Places we would like to visit: Istanbul, Greece, London & Paris (w/family when they visit), Spain, and Prague. So that should be lots of fun. Expensive, but I figure you only live once and when will I get a change like this before? I predict this summer will be full of lots of working to pay for all of this, haha. But it's totally worth it.

Anyway, I absolutely love it here. All of Europe is amazing, (well, what I've seen), but I am particularly in love with England. The people are great and I looooove them!!! Hope you all are well!!

Love,

Amy
