Visiting kin in DC and seeing the sights, then ambling off to rural Mineral, VA to visit friends and impose on them to make repairs on the motor home. How blessed we are for the relatives and friends we've got re-acquainted with and the hospitality we've enjoyed.
Parked the motor home near Mineral, VA overlooking Lake Anna, visited with friends, Frances, Carol and Carl on their farm. My friend Carl went all out to make repairs on the motorhome and made it look like new.
Took a car trip over to Palmyra, VA to visit daughter, Ali and family. Phil came down with an earache and spent several days convalescing, while Teds enjoyed the visit.
Then, back to Mineral, VA, for another short visit and then on to Durham, NC to visit sister, Sonja and her husband, Stan. Only one campground listed in Durham and after a brief look around, we opted to go to nearby, Chapel Hill to a wonderful site, Springhill Park, that consisted of large spaces and plenty of beautiful pines. We were so sad to leave after just one night.
On to Warne, NC, to Steve and daughter Linda's mountain home to visit over the Labor Day weekend. A beautiful alpine home sitting atop a small hilltop overlooking Georgia in one direction and Tennesee to the west. Not wanting to waste any time, we embarked on a project of building a workbench in the garage, which turned out perfect. Bidding goodbye to Steve & Linda, we settled in to wind down, sleep late, and relax at the mountain home, before traveling on to Charleston, SC, dodging Tropical Storm Hanna, to visit Uncle Roy and Aunt Ann and then homeward bound.
Don't change that dial!
