The Palouse
Historically well-known for its horse-grazing land, the Palouse region is an area of Washington state with natural splendor and an interesting history.  Native Americans first bred their strong horses here, and although Lewis and Clark passed through this area in 1806, the land was not developed by pioneers until roughly 50 years later. Small towns here dot the landscape between the more major cities of Spokane and Walla Walla, offering travelers friendly and accessible places to stop along their way. read more  >
