We rolled into Wakefield and quickly split to find ourselves a bite to eat. Nate returned from the hunt with an invitation from some local kids to hang out in the town square. Through the course of the evening we met some pretty cool people, including one fellow named Nigel who turned out to be a nice guy at heart but not in practice. Tony and I gathered some juggling tricks from some of the friendlier locals and got invited to a juggling festival in Leeds. Through our good nature we were privaleged enough to stay on the back lawn of a Quaker meeting house where we slept well and woke with plans to make it to Leeds. Friends held us at the city center so we busked in the sun before biking the short 8 miles to Leeds. A tease of a bike ride, only long enough to get blood and go power flowing.
The first while in Leeds we met a couple of proper blokes - Monkey Joe and Luke, who Nate later returned to party with. We slept in a park sheilded by open lawns lined with trees. We fired up the camp stove again and enjoyed a gourmet meal of grilled cheese and tomato soup followed by hot tea. The next morning we biked back into the city center and met with some of the punk kids from Wakefield at the Corn Exchange. A huge old builing formerly used for trading of goods, predominantly - corn. We went our seperate ways for a bit, Tony endulged at a chinese buffet, I toured the open air market and Nate talked politics and got us a place to stay for the next couple days, complete with running water, hot food and shelter from the rain.
