“we woke up to glorious sunshine!” |
We set off in our new camper van which we thought would only be right to rename and ‘BONGA’ was his name (after the Hawiian longboarder Bonga Perkins), equipped with new surf boards! Our destination was Waipu Cove, North of Auckland. Bonga did a grand job getting us up there and we arrived at the camp site.
We spoke with the owner and asked for a site close to the beach, stupid question really we’re not in England now! We pulled up at our site and walked the 20 metres to the shoreline! Where we were met with perfect wave sets coming in and a picturesque scene around them, what a great first camping location! We set up for the night made food and indulged in a glass or three of wine.
The next morning we woke up to glorious sunshine, we hung out at the beach, had a little surf and pottered the day away.
