Hi again! Well this week has been pretty cool, suprise, suprise! School is school, but my professors are pretty awesome. They are all layed back and full of Hawaiian spirit. I finally got a bike this week, so now i can get out and explore a little father around the city limits. Last weekend as a trip we went to a beach called Hapuna. Hapuna beach is said to be the best beach on the isldand. It was a hlaf-mile of white sand and turquoise water, like something inthe movies! We snorkled and body surfed, even played a little beach volleyball. This weekend we took two amazing trips. Saturday we went to Papakolea Beach (Green Sands). We hiked about 2.5 miles out to the beach. We trecked along the ocean the whole time. When we go there, the beach was down inside this horseshoe cliff. So we trecked down into the canyon to the green sand! Wow, the waves were crazy! There were like 8-10ft swells. It was quite the little swimming spot. On Sunday we drove to Waipi'o Valley. This is called the Valley of the Kings and was once a favorite retreat of Hawaiian royalty...cool! The crazy thing was the hike to and from the beach. We walked a mile and a half up and down a 25-45 degree incline! It was so exhausting, but totally worth it when we got to the beach. There were wild horses roaming, waterfalls in the distance, and locals surfing. Really a sensory overload! The van ride back was like a private tour of the coast, again, beautiful.
I can't wait to bring Eric and my family to my new favorite spots! If anyone else want to visit, I make a pretty good tour guide!
Well, i have to get going, i'm heading of to the coffe shop for some Kona coffee and a bit of studying (yes, i actually study here).
Hope all is well!
Love!!
