Our first full day in New Zealand. Had a good nights sleep, so feeling refreshed. Matthew also seems calmer still, so hopefully is recovering. He still has a rash, but Im wondering if that is to do with heat. Not sure, so will keep an eye on him.
It takes us ages to do anything, even brushing our teeth seems a massive expedition. Breakfast consists of cheerios, shared of course with Matthew. We are having a washing day today, so plan to spend the day on site.
We go into Waihi for some supplies. The motorhome lacks some basics like tea-towels and pegs, so have to get these. Also buy some food for a BBQ. The site has an excellent kitchen area and a free BBQ, so plan to use this rather than messing up the motorhome.
I spend an hour or so with Matthew on the beach, as he wont sleep in the afternoon. There is far too much going on for him. Worryingly he seems to enjoy eating sand, and when we leave also has a taste of the gravel on the roadside! Absolutely disgusting, but he seems to enjoy it. I shall remind him of this when he is older.
The day is otherwise uneventful. I suspect there will be many days like this, and I'll not update the blog in such cases as it would get extremely boring!
Now I sit here on the campsite, with Lloyd fast asleep besides me, and Steve and Matthew on the "rack". It's been a good day.
Tomorrow we plan to move south. I am looking forwards to it, need a change of scenery.
