Today Steve caught a Wahu. Must have been about 4 or foot long I reckon. I surprised him with a deep sea fishing trip. He and the boys from Vomo seemed to have a great time.
The fish is being cooked up and displayed in the buffet tomorrow night. Apparantly we are also having a bit for dinner tonight as a "special" treat. Not sure I want to eat it, but heh hoh, in for a penny in for a pound. And at least the fish wont be wasted here, the staff will certainly enjoy it - they havent stopped talking about their catches from a couple of days ago!
Life in Vomo continues slowly (thank goodness). Im trying not to think about when I leave. Matthew is now able to go in the water with the fish without freaking out, and was feeding them bread this morning. He even threw Steve out of the Kayak and insisted on rowing himself along the shore today.
Lloyd is great, he likes the air-conditioning, and the gentle breeze under the hammock on the beach. We are all having the best time of our lives. If I only had a week to live this is the place I would spend it. Even now, I sit in the restaurant (which has no windows, just shutters), with a gorgeous view over the resort. And if I turn my head I can see the ocean, the islands in the distance.
The staff here are fantastic. Its a bit like being in a little community. If you want to be friendly with them you can, if you want your privacy you can have that too. I like talking to the girls, finding out about the Fijian way of life. I gave away one of Lloyds toys today, to one of the cleaners who has a baby born a month after Mathew. I just felt like it would be put to better use here, and valued more than if I sell it on ebay when I return home. I asked her first if they had toys like it here, and she said no.
Im not sure whether to visit one of the Fijian villages, I would very much like to, but a bit worried about taking LLoyd. I asked the girls and they said it would be fine. Will have to see. Apologies if I have mentioned this before, cant recall.
Okay thats all for now, Im back off into paradise. We have the babysitter organised again tonight, and have been invited to a volleyball game, so should be fun. Take it easy readers.
