Had to leave Lake Anita but we will be back. Heading further west and then north to South Dakota. Driving through the plains, I keep thinking of the pioneers making the trip in their covered wagons. Thanks to President Eisenhower, we are able to make the same trip almost effortlessly. The interstate system makes this all possible, but I miss going through the little towns and 'burbs as we travel past. Stopped tonight at Camp Dakotah near Sisseton, South Dakota. Turned out to be a horse farm. We had time to drive through Sisseton this evening. It is a nice little town and we enjoyed looking at the various buildings and guessing what they used to be. Found the Boys and Girls Club that looked like the building was a gas station from the 50's. Also found an old diesel switcher engine on a siding. Tomorrow we head into North Dakota and hope to make it to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It is almost 410 miles and we will see how far we get.
