Spending 2 1/2 weeks in the South Pacific was amazing. I had no idea what I was in for: snorkeling in famous reefs with colorful fish, barracudas and sea snakes, attempting to scuba dive without any instruction, hiking around an island at high tide (do not attempt this), kayaking around an island (smarter), being on a ferry in very rocky waters, having it get dark at 6pm in the summer (Fiji's winter), watching a man run after a runaway horse (and telling me once he caught it, he would kill it), adapting to "Fiji Time."
We spend a few days on the main island and traveled to an island right off the coast before island hopping way out in the Pacific for one week (Yasawa Islands). I would recommend visiting the Yasawa's soon. With the addition of the Yasawa Flyer, it seems like most of the islands fill up quickly. Also, it would be fun to visit them before they get "modern conveniences " such as hot water and electricity.

Hi there! I had a pretty safe experience in Turkey, but I traveled with a guy. I think if you were traveling alone, I would recommend meeting people to travel with, or taking tours. It's safe otherwise, but you may find this to be a better experience. Have fun - it's one of my favorite countries to travel in!

Hi Jenica, It looks like you've traveled a lot! I am thinking about going to Turkey and looks like you've already been there. Do you recommend a woman (or women) going alone? I may go by myself or with a girlfriend but wonder how safe was your experience? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Alli
