After a 16 hours bus ride from St. Augustine, all I could say was "beach". So I walked from the bus station to the beach. Preety cheap of me, I know.. 20 minutes and I got to the beach. Sand at last. I put down my backpack and watched what was left of the sunrise. People were starting to get to the beach, jogging, walking with dogs, themselves, and metal detectors (?).
I took my backpack and headed off to the only hostel I could find over the Internet. Stupidly enough I decided not to call and reserve a place in the hostel. So when I got there, it was still too early in the morning and they were still closed. I went into 7-Eleven across the street and bought myself a cup of coffee to pass the time.
When they finally opened, it turned out that the hostel is closed, and only the hotel is open at this time of the year.
I decided $34 a night is too much for me, so I said thank you and headed off to look for an Internet Cafe to find my next destination. And surprise surprise.. Virginia Beach people don't really know what an Internet Cafe is.. After many tries, I found the Library is the only place people knew that offers an Internet connection. I went to the Library and found it closed too :-p. When it opened, I could get in and set Washington, DC as my next destination.
