We had an easy day after arriving home quite late the night before. At about 1.30 we headed into Vina to check out the food market and do some shopping for the new year. The market was simply amazing...the photo's for this are on my camera and I can't figure out how to get them on the c storage card to no pics of this I'm aftaid. 3 Capsicums for nz 50 cents, likewise for cucumbers. i spend about 12 bucks and had bags of stuff, including a jar of papaya which we had for desert and were heavenly.
After the market we headed off to the streets of old Vona and checked out he shops there, sat at a cafe famous for being a meeting place - where, Roberto tells us, people can make a coffee last forever just to sit there and watch the talent. We had our drink and snack and then wandered over to an artesan market and then headed back. Roberto dropped us off at Vina beach whilce he took the car to the car wash and we checked out the beach markets and the crowd on the beach. The beach was packed - it was a saturday evening by now - and there were stalls everywhere, kids doing breakdancing shows, puppeteers (who were amazing) generally people everywhere just relaxing and enjoying the evening. One guy was walking his 5 spaniels and was exercising them by blowing bubbles and the dogs would chase them everywhere - that was fun to watch. There are dogs everywhere, owned and unowned. i have never seen so many around - even in india.
