We camped for the night in the Park and learned that we are not campers.  There were no showers, at least there was a bathroom in which we could rinse off.  However, no matter how many times you washed the wind always layered you in dirt.

The night was very windy.  I was worried about our camp fire causing a forest fire.  The wind could almost blow it out.  To a Louisianan I'd think tornadic winds. At one point I thought the tent was going to fall down.

Just as we were getting used to the wind, it stopped.  Dead silence then ensued and that made it very hard to sleep.  Not to mention the hot air.

We did get to take the driving tour and looked around an area that a pioneer woman had moved to and planted many different trees to create and shaded and beautiful place amongst all the sage and sand.  It is only one, I think, of  two places with full shaded trees in that area.
