Ahh Venice the place for Lovers...not so great for backpackers. We started things off a little rocky when we realised that the hotel we booked wasnt even on the island. Its really not fun to find a hotel in an unfamiliar place with a bag, weighing 100 lbs on your back...But things worked out eventually and we explored the canals of Venice 3x over...It was beautiful but we realised that 1 or 2 days of looking in glass shops would have been plenty.
We watched people make glass on the island of Murano...wonder what else they do there?
None the less, it was great to finally be in Italy...mmmm gelato and pizza.
