Brent thought Paris was the most romantic place in the world, but after Venice he's not sure; he'll have to see what Ruth votes when we get to Paris. This is an amazing introduction to Europe!

Dinner for Brent's birthday at Restorante Al Fontego dei Pesaori was special and we met a couple from UK that we visited with. We got back to the hotel at midnight !

We are traveling to Tuscany and Umbria for a bike tour with Bike Vermont in April. Were going to arrive 3 1/2 days early. Should we do Rome, Florence, Venice? Where should we fly in to? Any advice is welcomed! Thanks!

We loved Venice. If I had to pick one it would be Venice. Rome is two much for a limited time although we did 3 days I think. I agree with Ericwolf2 on the Jetlag - get to Venice & relax. If you look at our blog we flew into Milan and took the train to Venice. I'm worried you won't have enough time to recover from jet lag and see Venice. Happy Travels, Brent Shirley

I have decided would like to spend the better part of my next summer abroad. (at this point venice is my first option) Instead of the usual week or two vacation where I could stay in a hotel so I would like to find a place to stay for a month or so such as a rented room. I have no clue how to travel like this and find a place to stay because travel places usually only handle hotels. any advice??
