444493 Karen Watkins November 2009: I't's hard to believe it's almost the end of the year. It's been a good year, starting off with a three-week visit to Uganda. A few months ago I was supposed to go to Cyprus but ended up sepdning three days in Dubai instead. This is not the sort of place that i would normally visit but it turned out to be a good time, despite it being Ramadan, becaise they had opened the Metro the previous day. I'm waiting for the article to be published in the Saturday Star and then I'll load it on to my blog. I'm off to Istanbul for one-week on December 11, spending three nights at the Movenpick. After Istanbul I'll go to Tunisia for three weeks. In my spare time (what spare time?) I lead hikes, stroke my cat while writing travel articles and enjoy being with friends.
