How amazing to meet up with Dean and Mike. It really made us feel like we´ve started our world tour and boosted our va va voom. They had booked us into Tribal Village which is a backpackers paradise right on the coast. We had a cabaña next to theirs with sweeping views of the caribbean out of every gap in the walls. It was fantastic and it was here that we got over our jet lag and got into the swing of things - we just chilled out, laughed a lot, read books,  got advise about where to go and what to see and tried to get used to the heat (sunburnt knees are very painful).

Chesta has been trying to improve his swimming and went out for an early morning dip one day, returning after 20 minutes without his middle toenail. Probably best not to practise swimming in this neck of the woods as it can be fairly gnarley (for someone who can´t swim).

Tribal Village is basically a load of sheds with beds full of really cool people. We´ve already met a lot of people who we want to stay in touch with, including a fantastic Greek couple Costas and Sylvia, Stefan from Montreal and Rebecca from NZ.

We all met up for a sort of leaving do on Tuesday evening at the Acabar. Charlie was drinking strong Cuba Libras throughout the evening with tequilla chasers and can´t remember how she ended up in the sea with Dean and without clothes.

On Wednesday she had her first hangover on the bus to Chetumal.

Hey! (sorry about the ! Chesta, or should that be Coconut James?) It was so cool meeting up with you guys. We had a fab time with you and hope you have a great rest of the trip. Try to keep your clothes on in future though Charlie - how DID that happen? We are still here, with Rebecca and Stefan, but all head off in our different directions tomorrow. PS - David had a hot date last night and changed no less than 3 times before he was happy with his outfit. He didn't return until gone 2pm this afternoon. Shocking! (oops! Sorry again Chesta for the !)

I stayed at the tribal village for a night with a few friends and stayed in a cabana - firstly it leaked and was drenched through the whole night and then i complained to the owner (Serjio) who refused to refund us the money for 2 nights. He stormed out pushing a woman into the door then strangled me and headbutted me! The manager broke it up and mentioned its not the first time this has happened. Beware! The owner does not treat his guests well at all - he also owns the next place along so i wouldn't stay there either. Just thought i'd warn you guys. Down the road is awesome esmerelda K - i'd recommend it to anyone. And

Can't believe you had the same experience as me And! Got the police involved cos he was out of control - probably on drugs! Wouldn't recommend it. What is it with the beach! Its rocks no sand and jelly fish the size of my face. It is cheap but nasty, i emphasise the nastyness!
