This is the beginning of a trip that will take me through until August of 2007. I start by quietly fretting about the stresses of travelling throughout the world. You see, for those that know me well know that I need to have everything planned down to the last detail. For this trip I want to have to ability to go with the wind. If it blows from the south, I want to pick up and head north, from the east - head west. I am starting by visiting a good friend in Vancouver, then down to Fiji for October 10. And then onto Sydney. Besides my first two nights accomodation in Fiji I have nothing set. And this is what I'm fretting about. This is also why Kev is the perfect travel companion for me.
I met him first year in rez and proceeded to live with him for the next three years. We've shared some amazing experiences such as the Grand Canyon, we know what each other is thinking before anything is said. And we also know that we will not be spending the entire next year like siamese twins attached at the hip. While we both plan to work in Australia for a little while to build up some scratch, Kev plans to do some volunteer work in India for several months where I'd rather be a tourist. So, we go our separate ways and meet later in our travels.
I should probably post some goals for myself. But I think I truly only have one solid goal: Adventure, of any kind. Kev and I will pick the first place in Australia where we plan to settle down and work, get there, check it out and see if we like it. If not, we move on. No big deal. And that's how it will go. I could tell you I want to crew a yacht along the Whitsunday Islands, become a SCUBA instructor along the Great Barrier Reef, cook in a five star restaurant. But I won't, those are ideas, if they happen, trust me, you'll read about my dreams come true, if not you'll read about another ridiculous adventure I've had in their place.
I think I'm prepared as can be, correction: as I want to be. Ready or not world, here I come.
