We are flying out on a 113 day trip round the world on 11th Feb 2007.  Before that I just have to give birth to our 2nd child in January, and organise the final leg of the trip!

The trip plan is as follows:

  • Singapore (1 day)
  • Australia (1 week)
  • New Zealand (2 months)
  • Fiji (10 days)
  • USA (1 month)

Hopefully this blog will record the experiences of travelling with a young family, and some of the beauty of the countries we are visiting.  Looking forwards to the journey!

Brendon & Sue says:

Hi There, Have just spent the last hour or so reading through your families travel adventures. Goodness knows, some days I tremble at the thought of a mere outing to the local shops with our 3-yr old! And yes, I'm embarrassed to admit it .. the sanctuary of home and routine is only 5 minutes away! Nevertheless, we're off to NZ in November, and I'm interested to hear your tips on coping with motorhome travel with a littl'un in tow. If you were doing it again what would be on your recommended hit list? Enjoy yourselves ... Your trip plan looks fab! Cheers for now, Sue (VIC, Australia)

"Mother of 1" - absolutely go for it. One year olds are probably at their best age as they are sleeping through the night, easily pleased, and generally fairly happy. You have to accept it will be different to travelling alone as a couple, but once you do that you will have a great time. And pack the suncream! Take care. x
