Well I flew to Tehran, Iran. I never left the plane so don’t have much to say on the subject, but I can give you some insight on the goings on which allow the plane to function. For example; have you ever wondered how the plane gets from the “Bomb Blast” state that passengers leave it in to the “fresh plane look” that you see when you board? Well it sure aint us cabin crew that cleans it! Well we collect the blanket and headsets as people deplane (I don’t believe that deplane is a word). After the passengers go e take on a security role as an arm of cleaners, caterers, engineers, and various others with radios enters the plane. We check all there ID’s to make sure they belong. We also are the only ones allowed to open and close the doors, and after this variable army of people leaves the plane (I counted at least 50 maintenance staff on the plane last night) we have to go over the cabin looking of “out of place items.” This can be anything from tools to cleaning supplies to bombs! And it is not a leisurely activity, these guys are busting a hump to get this plane ready. There is running, screaming, sweating, tripping, and frenzied searching! We just try to stay out of the way! Then, like the wave of a wand, they are gone. And, literally, moments later, the passengers board. And the mess starts all over again! It is the strangest thing to view.
