Oh Tahoe, you are very confused this year. Cold but no snow? Warm and rainy? Climate change or global warming, any way you look at it, this has not been a good season for snow lovers in California.

On Saturday, it rained at the base of Homewood, with wet snow falling at the top. My gloves were soaked through and through - they were dripping. Bone chilling cold that reminded me of sledding as a child on the east coast and being very cold without a clue that I might freeze to death. Now, I'm old enough to know better but continued snowboarding until there was just no way to avoid the obvious - it's raining and the snow is cement. William in fact was cold and fell over bruising his chest and ego. I went down runs by myself with not another soul around. I had visions of bears coming out of the trees confused as to why I wasn't by a fire. They'd be hungry and happy that I was dumb enough to venture out. The snow was too wet to turn in, or I was too tired to do it - either way, I kept falling over laughing.

That night it got colder and actually snowed. The next day, I learned how to put chains on my tires and drive in the snow. The conditions were better but I was tired from the day before, so continued to fall over laughing at every turn. Sincerely, Soggy in Tahoe
