Got here on xmas eve. Spent that night out of the streets before going into a local club till the early hours of xmas day. Xmas day and boxing day were spent doing absolutely nothing.
I finally got my SCUBA diving done here, and am now a qualified open water NAUI diver.......got the T shirt and everything!! Diving is great fun, and in my 7 dives (including a night dive), I saw alot of beautiful sea life. It is amazing being so close to the `other world´.
On one of the days, we went to a completely private beach in the Tayrona National Park (which has been voted to have some of the best beaches in the world), and spent the day and night there. There were 6 of us on the whole bay, and all we had was our hammocks, a small place to cook food, and a place one could call a loo. Civilisation was at least half an hour away by boat, or a few days of walking through the jungle and mountains. Amazing experience, and equally amazing views of the blue/green caribbean sea and the mountains surrounding it.
New Years Eve was spent in a town near Taganga called El Rodadero, which is called the Colombian Miami. It´s a town where alot of the wealthy Colombians have holiday homes. It has amazing beaches and great night life. We (a colombian from my diving course, and English guy I had been travelling with and I) partied all night until 9.30 am before returning to Taganga to sleep for the rest of the day. A great night. In fact at 12 o´clock we were getting driven by the taxi driver, through all the streets with parties on our way to Rodadero!!
As a result of the diving, and because Taganga is such a great, relaxing, easy-going and slow-paced village, I ended up staying much longer than expected. In fact when it came to the time for leaving, I didn´t feel like.
