Well i left you as i was being dropped into my hostel. I slept in the middle of the day (as is necessary in a hostel) and then spoke to my girlie friends who were in Sydney and were staying nearby. They had a new friend for me to scare senseless so i went over to theres and after catching up we all agreed the only proper way to celebrate my arrival was to go out for a drink! We trooped down to Scu Bar, and then after a couple of free vodka and oranges (thanks boys!!) we headed onto World Bar were we proceeded to dance our little socks off, aided by one or two teapots. I pranced through my hostel door armed with a kebab and then chatted to the hostel doorman until he nearly ran away in tears laughing at me-men huh?! The next day being friday, was spent recovering at Bondi Beach. We sunbathed, and dipped our feet in the water, then sunbathed some more...until it started raining!!! (i think it was so hot it had to rain) so we all packed up and headed back. The girls then abandoned me to head to Melbourne..so i went to find new playfriends!
I was fannying around in my hostel room emptying my bag of everything and met Anjili, saint and party girl in disguise. It started as dinner together, and then descended into a crazed all-night party-a-thon as Marcelo and pervy friend Patrick joined us. We didnt stop drinking till 7am, went back to Marcelo's place and then didnt get back to our hostel till 3pm.. The guy from reception's face was a PICTURE...and then he called us dirty stop outs!! We did look pretty trampy though..
We spent the day recovering and chatting, as well as a wee bit of shopping before we met up with Marcelo again for a night on the tiles. It was St. Patricks day so we really did have to go out, there was no choice involved-and it was his friends 26th birthday. We went to Q-bar at about 10.30pm, got in and were a little bit disappointed by the music on (it wasnt as good as the night before) we recovered quickly though when we saw the fine array of men on parade. Anjili went home about 3am, complaining her feet hurt, southern girls just cannot last the mile! and i stayed till 7am, after we moved to Havana, a much better club. I slept at Marc's before heading back to meet Anjili for a day of wandering the town and organising how we were getting to Melbourne and how i was going to go to the Blue Mountains. On the night we went to the Harbour Bridge for its 75th anniversary, it was all lit up and very pretty..as you can all see from the photo1
I went to the Blue Mountains the next day, while Anjili stayed home and chilled. Went on a tour with a mixed group of about 20 and had one of the most fun days ever!! We saw the blue mountains, got up close and personal with wild kangaroos, got our faces painted aboriginal style, went on the worlds steepest railway and did rude poses with bronze figures while Japanese tourists took photos! The area was so so beautiful, they really do look blue, and my photos dont do them justice, and we even stopped for lunch at a billabong (a watering hole) where we eat, swam a little and chilled in the sunshine, it was heaven. I headed home to the hostel and then had a quietish night out with Anjili and a couple of glasses of wine. Tomorrow we are off to Melbourne to party like wildthings and be cool.
