“Phi Phi to the border to Magnum P.I.” |
After getting the boat from Phi Phi to Krabi (1.5 hrs), a bus to Had Yai (3/4 hrs) and then another bus to Sungai Kolok, on the Thai border (another 3/4 hrs), we finally arrived. Unfortunately though a delay in Had Yai meant we missed Malaysian immigration which closes at 9pm. So we had to do an over-nighter and actually had a blast.
As you might have seen from the pictures myself, Kev and Matt have been growing beards (since the trip began). They were getting itchy and with no trimming allowed starting to look really stupid. So, we decided to have a laugh and shave them off leaving only tashes :o) My name is Mal-mo.
It was surreal. Here we are looking like Magnum P.I's in a Karoke bar, having a bite to eat and a few drinks, with some Thai women singing songs beside us. Of course, it wasn't long before myself and Matt graced the 'audience' with some classic renditions - 'Billy Jean is not my lover' - haha.
Oh and it was only afterwards we found out, there's a mini-war going on around Sungai Kolok :o)
