This morning we checked out Stonehenge, and its lesser known little brother, Avebury. Avebury was first, and pretty cool. Got to walk up around the rocks, were even allowed to touch them and give them a quick cuddle if we wanted... They are thought to be ceremonial sites, or maybe burial grounds. The upright stones at Avebury are from around 3500 BC. There was also a massive man-made hill, which was nice, but who makes a hill??

Stonehenge was cool, though they wanted to charge us to explore them, and even then the stones were roped off. Masses of tourists were shuffling around them on the walking path, taking photos left right and centre. We kind of thought it took away from the whole special-ness of the place, and didn't bother paying to go in.

Got some cool pics of both Avebury and Stonehenge, but they're all on a boat now, on the way back to Aus...
