After a very bumpy ferry ride we arrived in Stewart Island. Stewart Island has over 85% conservation land and with only one afternoon to explore we decided to speed things up a little. The island has 20km of road so what better way to get around than on a scooter. The 6 of us hired mopeds, put on the fetching safety gear and within the 2 hours there were a few falls. Jo even took a dramatic fall before leaving the forecourt, making the owner slightly nervous! We whizzed around the island which meant we could get to all the worthwhile lookouts in just one afternoon.
We spent the night on the island playing the name game and Monty tried to teach me how to throw poi. Far to many bruises, but a lot of fun!
