The new driver was called 'Baggins' and he really looked like a hobbit!!! (forgot to take a photo tho'- silly me!!!
We drove from Tuatapere down to Invercargill and then on to the ferry terminal at Bluff. After a reasonable crossing, managed to see quite a few albatross flying around, we arrived on the Island at 12.30pm and booked to do a kayaking, snorkelling and fishing trip. Sorry no pictures as my camera isn't water proof but had a great time kayaking around one of the bays on the island and then snorkelling - saw several fish and seaweeds as well as sea urchins and puau shells. Unfortunately my fishing skills weren't up to it, but I caught lots of seaweed!!!!
Spent the rest of the time on the island just chilling out and walking around, I had hoped to hire a scooter and try to get about like that but the weather was pretty cold and wet, a bit like home really. I did manage to spot a random phone stuck to a tree though - very bizarre!
Did manage to have some great seafood though, some freshly caught blue cod and a lovely fish chowder at the local pub.
