Our final day in the winelands, we hit Backsberg (one of the few totally "green" wineries in the world) as well as a great cheese farm which made the makings of a perfect picnic lunch. For our final night in the winelands, we thought we'd book a night in a farmhouse and boy, did we happen upon a good one. We stayed with Maike and Jonathan at Hawksmoor House. Built in the 1700s, it has been beautifully restored and we enjoyed beautiful views of Table Mountain and a stunning sunset - of course alongside a bottle of Hawksmoor wine which was equally lovely! Cosmo and Max were the dogs of the house that also kept us company during our stay - even took them for a walk in the morning.
What a wonderful final night in the winelands. Maike was a gem and it was great to chat with her during our stay as were the ladies helping her out at the house.
We are off for a three day safari at a game reserve in Kruger National Park early tomorrow. Very excited about this!
We'll catch up when we return to our home away from home (18 on Crox that is).
