Fly into Ho Chi Minh city, a day exploring the Mekong Delta then into Phnom Penh by slowboat. Then to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, again by slowboat. Fly into Vientiane, then bus to Luang Prabang via Vang Vieng. Fly to Hanoi, boat trip around Halong Bay and then overnight bus to Hue. Bus to Hoi An via Danang, overnight bus to Nha Trang then return to Ho Chi Minh by yet another overnight bus.
