ok samba sam - i realize your trip was awhile ago, but i just found your blog... and am totally jealous! my boyfriend and i are planning to head south next year to do something very similar to what you did. would you mind me asking how much you saved for this entire trip? we're thinking of being out for a year - but would love to do the galapagos, salt flats tours, etc - not just bare bones. i know you had the luxury of british pounds to use (the greenback's rate will prob shorten our trip to 9 months at this rate!). any financial planning advice you can give - what you took off with - would be greatly appreciated. love the blog!
