Who knew that there would be a 7/11 next door to our hostle in Little India?? Anyways, our day started off with grumpy Erin looking for coffee, and to much surprise, just like at home, $2 gets you a nice cappuchino! Because of this little cup of coffee, we started the day off on the right foot.

The night before we took our own little adventure, with the company of 7 other travelers to the night safari at the singapore zoo. This place was like nothing we had ever seen before. The Calgary Zoo is not even comparable. We took a tram ride through the zoo that is a guided tour and then you get off and walk. Whilst on the train, I noticed something strage, I looked at koren and said "how are you supposed to get out and walk around when none of the animals are in cages?" ... she had no answer to this, so we just did it and it was incredible. A giant flying squirrel, a cage of bats (i didn't like this one... they were way too close to my head), 3 lions chatting back and forth, some elephants, and my favorite... the leppords...these were in cages, and maybe that is the reason I liked them so much. We then finished the tram ride and went to an animals of the night show, and this furry animal, that looked like a little bear was walking a rope that was about .5m over my head, again another uncomfortable situation, but I got over it. We then finally made it home and went to bed.

Yesterday was fantastic. We started the morning off with a shopping spree to the local market. We each bought at skirt,,, and man are they cute. We are actually both wearing them right now. We then continued to the hostle, where Erin napped and Koren hung out with some dudes from NEw Zealand, England, South Africa, an American, and a Canadian. They each had a couple of beers and when Erin woke up, she joined right in. Nothing like a cold beer when you are sweating out everything you are drinking! We then went on a tour of the the muslim mosque, a hindu temple, and a buddhist temple. When looking back on my Anthropology of Chinese Religion class, I learnt all of this stuff, but it was so much cooler to be there. We rubbed the buddah for good luck and had our fortunes told. (Erin's was good, Koren's was bad)... so we decided it is all mumble jumble! The girl who was giving us the tour then told us that on this one street was the mosque, the hindu temple, the buddhist temple, the catholic church and the synagogue. Well this I had to see! So we ventured off to a 125 year old synagogue. Who knew there were Jews in Singapore... not me! We were invited in and then invited to the service that night, but we didn't go.
We headed back to the hostle and then went for dinner for club sandwitches (so good, and a little surprise on it... an egg!) and then it was off to bed.

This morning we woke up, got packed and ventured to the MRT station to get to the Changi airport. That is where we are right now. Ate some Sushi and now waiting for our flight to leave for Bangkok.... and man am I excited... which balances out Koren's nervousness and fear of big cities really well.

Off to Bangkok, we'll write again soon! Keep the e-mails coming because we absolutely love them!
