Day 2 of Singapore Style Living started with a relaxing, lounging morning. I was named the Excercise Enforcer. so that Max and I would be on track with our morning regiment!  The reality of it was, Max got out of bed 6am sharp every morning, and I pretended not to hear the wake-up call!  Ha! Max was already with her second or third client metting of the day before I made my way out.  Actually, I had to tear myself away from the hotel room, since everything I needed was all there. (I've never sat in a steam room at 9am in the morning before!)

After brunch, I decided to head over to Chinatown.   Not sure why I gotta check out my peeps. (If your Vietnamese, would you look for Little Saigon in every town?) With my Sunblock 150 and layer of mosquito repellant, and a handy map that was also to be used as a fan, off I went!  As soon as I stepped out of the hotel, I wanted to run back in!  Hot Damn, i'd be barbecuing out here! Eventually found the subway, and made my way to Chinatown.  During my ride in the subway, in the train, I observed one of those signs where they indicate "No Smoking, No Eating, No etc...) The one that caught my eye was the one that said " NO DURIANS" (Hahahaha, only in Asia!) Good thing most people speak both English and Chinese here!  Some pretty helpful folks! After an hour of walking and looking at the same trinket junk, it was time to eat.  Hawker stands was the way to go, since my peeps were all eating here too!  Their stands actually have Grades(A, B, C) just like L.A.!  So I ordered Hainam Chicken and a fresh fruit drink.  Not bad for the price, fairly decent.  Seemed like a fairly normal lunch break until...

Old man wandering about the food court, decides to sit down cuz he's tired.  So happens, that he sits in a chair that was just vacated by one of the staff peeps.  No big deal you say, but with my watchful eye, I thought the staff dude was coming back.  I don't think OlD Man was aware since he picks up from where Staff dude leaves off, and starts chompin' at his Chicken drumstick and noodle soup!  Boy, it looked good!  Sooner than you know it, Staff dude comes running back, with his hands wailing..HEY! HEY! HEY! He approaches as if he's going to smack Old Man.  With so many people staring, all staff dude could do was yell, THAT's MINE!!!!!"  Without any concern, Old Man looks up, wipes his mouth, picks up his bag, and walks away. Meanwhile, Staff dude, is still seething, takes his seat, picks up his half eaten drumstick, and finishes where Old Man started.  How's that for community?  I love my peeps!

After visiting the temple, I i enjoyed some ice coffee and kaya toast! couldn't wait to get back to the hotel.  Max and I had planned to go shopping in the afternoon!  As soon as I get back, those plans went down the drain.  The room was just too nice, and I convinced Max that "lounging"was the best activity for us!

We decided to enjoy some cocktails before dinner.  I love free stuff! Max met with her colleagues for dinner, and I went to the famous Singapore Night Safari!  Pretty cool idea, and I think the only one of it's kind.  You can either walk or take a tram, but it's really going to the zoo at night!  It was both exciting and scary for me!  Most of you know I hate darkness, and mixing it up with animals is not a good idea.  Some parts seemed like we were in frickin' Jurassic Park!!!! Elephants, Lions, Waterhogs, Hippos, hyenas, leopards, bats (yes, BATS!!!), you name it they had it! Not sure why I decided to follow soom people into the bat cage, as they fly freely about. I followed some squeamish Japanese girls. I don't think they knew what they walked into as the signs just simply showed a picture of a bat. Doesn't help that it is pretty damn dark, and if you look up, you can see the bats hanging upside down! Stupid girl screamed pretty loud, and hid behind her friend!  I reacted, and screamed just as loud, and hid behind her, only I'm practically crawling on the ground, cuz I heard some wings flapping!  Get me the f*ck outta here!!!!

Nonetheless, it was cool to see the safari!  Great fun for kids!  But a few were either sleeping or crying too.  So make sure your kids are old enough and wide awake cuz this is the NIGHT SAFARI!

I would like to come back to Singapore again someday. People are friendly, and it is thriving here!  Though everything is clean and tidy and efficient, it shows the iron grip of the government.  One wrong move, and you may end paying off the police, wind up in jail, or even death!  Many strict rules, and you better follow it!  There ain't no 3 Strikes laws here!

Come back for pictures later on! Need access. may be some time!
