So far this has been busy and frantic at times, with brief periods of calm whilst the children sleep. Matthew is still ill, and although he was not sick all day he decides take-off is the time to restart the sickness! Marvellous, and very embarrassing. Luckily Lloyd is behaving much better, he seems to quite like the motion of the plane, and apart from the occasional murmur when he wants a feed he is fine. The bassinet on Singapore Airlines is superb, we can even eat whilst it is up, which is one up on other airlines. They eventually supply me with a bottle of water once they realise how much I am consuming. With breastfeeding it is important to drink a lot, and especially if flying.
I have had very little sleep, maybe 3 hours Friday night, and 3 hours on Saturday night. I am absolutely shattered, and it feels like my world has been turned upside down. I am very concerned for the children’s health, and will be pleased just to rest all of our heads in Singapore – I wish we had booked in for a few days.
I cant really say Im excited at this point, far too much has happened in the past week. I think once I land in Perth and am happy the boys are okay then I will start enjoying myself.
Am I pleased I did it, this is a question I think I will often ask. At present I think Im slightly crazy to think this will be a good experience, and feel slightly out of my depth. But Im chilled, I will hang on in there, and I will enjoy. This is only the beginning.
