After flying the 40mins from Phenom Penh we arrived into Siem Reap, what a pretty city it is compared to Phenom Penh.  We had an afternoon looking around the markets before heading to Tonle Sap Lake or Great Lake to visit the floating town which had schools, basketball court, housing, fish farms.  The fun part was the priate antics of the locals living on the lake, at great speed they would come up along side our boat selling drinks and fruit, most with small children under 5yrs, certainly a very different life style.  Later that evening we went out for dinner in the famous French Quarter which is just lined with many bars and restaurants.  The following day we were treated to the city of Angkor which is a city of temple ruins all of which are thousands of years old.  The most famous Angkor Wat was first on the list, it is visually, architectually and artistically spectacular this temple is just something else, words and photos just don't do it justice, Cambodia are currently trying to get Angkor listed as one of the Seven Wonders, it listed as a world heritage site but definately makes the Seven Wonders of the world list.  If you can do anything in your life a vist to Angkor is a must.  That afternoon we visted Angkor Thom which consisted of many temple ruins unbeliveable that they still remain.  The following day we visited the temple Ta Prohm which was used in the filming of Tomb Raider as well as Angkor Wat, this is known as the jungle temple as it has huge trees growing amongst and through the ruins, certainly something special but very much in ruin.  The 3 days we had was just not enough time to really take it all in as we would have liked to seen some of the other temples.
