I haven't written in my journal in a couple months. I will try to write journals for each event that I have experienced since then, but I will start with my most recent experiences.

This morning Bobo took me to a Christian church near to where I live. I am Catholic, and I haven't been to church in Taiwan. I was curious about what a Christian church in Taiwan is like so I went. The mass was in Chinese, of course, and I could only understand a few words here and there. They also had Chinese characters on an overhead, and I could understand only a few characters. Despite my lack of understanding, it was still an interesting experience, and I met some new people.

Bobo invited me to go to Shihmen Reservoir with her, her family, another family, and an American from the church. It was raining and kind of cold, so we decided to go to a restaurant in the Shihmen Reservoir area, hoping that the rain would stop. We ate at an amazing restaurant. It was a traditional Taiwanese restaurant that specialized in fish. Since the restaurant was close to the reservoir, the fish were incredibly fresh and tasted amazing. They actually had fish tanks in the restaurant which is where they got our meals from.

After we were done at the restaurant, we went to the reservoir, and walked around for a little bit. It was raining outside so we couldn't be outside for too long. It was pretty cool because the rain created a fog and an eerie atmosphere.

After we were done at the reservoir, we went to Bobo's friend's house in Taoyuan. We had more food there, including a bean soup, Italian bread, an egg and sweet potato dish, strawberries, cherries, and some good dessert. I played a bit with Bobo's children and another family's children. I had a lot of fun, and I enjoyed spending time with local families.
