We took the fancy pants train and in a mere 2 1/2 hours we were in Sevilla!  For those who don´t know, during my junior year in college I (Shannon) spent 6 months living-studying in Sevilla.  Here I lived with a wonderful woman, MariCarmen, who took care of me and fed me well...too much actually she thought I was too skinny and was all to pleased when I left a ¨gordita¨ she called me the ´little fatty´when she was done with me.

So, when we arrived we called her right up and she demanded we come to her house immediately.  We hopped a bus and showed up at her apartment.  It was wonderful to see her after 8 years!  She looked younger than when I lived with her...a divorce will do that I guess!

She insisted we stay with her and immediately fed us too much!  She felt we probably got too skinny on this trip and spent 5 days trying to make up for 5 months on the road.  Her and Carrie played some wild games of charades and were able to carry on some conversation despite the language barrier.  She kept telling us how pretty Carrie is...over and over and how expensive Spain is now that they are on the Euro.

So, we ate, ate, slept, ate, walked around the city, sightseeing, ate, slept and ate some more.  We visited the Cathedral....we got busted for lying about our age to get into the church with a discount...We played the old, ´i don´t understand what you are saying´to get out of it.  Maricarmen just kept laughing so she really gave us away.  We´ll confess that sin at a later date.  We paid a damn fortune to get in that church, I guess that´s contrition enough.  They claim to have Christopher Columbus´body...Carrie did her best not to ruin it for Maricarmen by spilling the beans that he is really burried in the Dominican Republic.

We really enjoyed wandering around Sevilla and just living the ´vida´and visiting with MariCarmen.  She did make me dance in her living room some Spanish dancing before we left...we all had a great time together.

Then we hopped a train bound for the Costa Del Sol...Malaga.
