We were supposed to be dropped off in Selcuk at 7:30am so we would have time to get ready for our tour that would start at 9:30am. We actually got dropped off in Izmir (another town) at 8:30am and if it wasnt for a really nice passenger we would probably never have worked out how to get to our destination. We got onto another bus and eventually we got to Selcuk at 10:30am (1 hour after the beginning of our tour) and we awaited our hotel transfer which never arrived. We were so angry and frustrated but we kept our composure and somehow managed to organise people to take us to the tour.

The first part of our tour was spent being angry with everything because we were both tired from the trip and we stunk and we werent dressed appropriately for the hot weather. Eventually our mood passed and we began to enjoy the sights that we were actually there to see. We saw the ancient city of Ephesus, the place where the virgin Mary was supposed to have died (we both got to drink some refreshing holy water), the ruined temple of artemis (one of the 7 ancient wonders) and a few other interesting places. Meagan also got revenge on David and dobbed him in to do the pottery demonstration. David didnt get his pants caught but he did accidentally make a shape that looked very similar to a penis.

After our tour we organised to go out for some drinks with some of the people on our tour. We found a really nice place where the owner kept feeding us popcorn and beer and David learnt how to play backgammon. The owner introduced us to his brother who was a very interesting character who spent the night drinking with us. He was lots of fun until he tried to sell us carpets.
