After we got back from our day excursion...we had a birthday dinner with Julia and her daughter and Oscar (Anjela´s boyfriend of 5 years!)
She made this huge variety of tapas for dinner and just sat them out on the table and we all gathered around to eat it. Oscar speaks a little english so he was talking with us a little and that was neat.
We were talking and they started telling us how fast we talk in english! We about died, we said no! that Spaniards are the ones that talk fast! And of course they couldn´t believe it! It was funny. And we laughed about how hard it was the first day and how Megan and I just kept saying "Si" and nodding our heads...and Julia just laughed cause she knew that we had. They also told us that they were so surprised that we were willing to try everything and that we like most everything. They said most students won´t touch a lot of the food...and honestly some of it is interesting but you just have to go with it...I didn´t come to another country to be picky! And Julia said that she loved having us cause we were so open and nice and would talk to her a lot. So it was neat because she´s had students for 30 years and I´m glad we weren´t the worst ones or anything! She also said that she loves "Arizona girls"...she said that anytime they tell her she´s getting Arizona girls she gets excited because they are the nicest...haha! (She´s had us and two others). But she has students in the summer, fall and spring! She always has students...it´s unbelievable!
So it was neat to talk with her about her students...she showed us pictures...her first student she had is clearly from the 70s and he´s 50 years old this year! How crazy is that!
Julia turned 66 on Friday. And we had a big time chatting with her and looking at at all of the pictures of her students from past years.
Saturday we slept in..it was amazing! It was the first day that we didn´t have to set our alarm! It was the best...we slept in, got up and showered and then just walked around the streets of Segovia...it was nice to slow down this weekend. It´s been go, go, go. And it was nice to spend the day in Segovia. After lunch, our house Mom kept telling us we should go to the pool (she can´t swim but she loves it) and so we ended up going and almost the whole group was there because their house families were either going too or they had said it would be fun! And it was!
It´s a big grass area around a pretty good sized pool. Everyone was there. And there was a 10 year old that blew a kiss at me and said "Hola guapa"...10! Then another one came over and layed on the towel next to one of the girls in our group...it was funny but a little ridiculous!
That´s about all we did on Saturday...we planned to go to Madrid on Sunday...I will fill in more later...have to do some studying before class and then this afternoon I will add all my pictures (currently I have ones up from facebook...I will add mine this afternoon)
