So I woke up this morning to find no new messages in my inbox...there were tears.
Segovia is good, nothing too exciting, just lots of homework and essays. Megan and I gave Julia a starburst yesterday which was probably the funniest thing that has happened so far. She loves dulces and she unwrapped it and bit into it and asked us if it was gum...we of course said no and she then put the whole thing in her mouth and probably chewed it for a good 3 or 4 minutes while she was talking to us...we were trying so hard to keep it together! It was hilarious...she said she liked it. Oh Julia.
Last night when we got home for dinner, Julia and her daughter were out on the balcony screaming for the dog...Scar. And they were frantically looking around so we dropped our stuff and ran around yelling for Scar...somehow he had gotten out while Julia was hanging clothes on the clothes line on the balcony. So we´re all running around when suddenly we hear this bark coming from behind the door...not our door....the neighbor´s door. Scar was inside...Julia is down next to the door talking to Scar and trying to calm him down. But no one was home because the lady who lived there had come outside and left her door open while she was talking to Julia, well Scar went inside and then she shut and locked the door without her knowing he was inside...so the dog is stuck in their apartment and Julia is almost in tears...and Megan, Anjela (the daughter) and I are doing our best not to laugh.
Somehow the neighbor came back and let the dog out and then she left again...and funny thing cause Scar´s feet were wet...and it wasn´t from the patio...so Julia thinks he did a little number to the neighbors floor. Julia probably called the whole town of Segovia to tell them the story...and we just giggled about it.
When I get back home I probably won´t eat for a week. Julia thinks that we are starving or something because she feeds us like it´s the end of the world. Yesterday our normal 3 course lunch turned into a 5 course lunch...so when we were full and thought it was over, she brought out a pot of every kind of meat in the free world! She laughed at us at the end of the meal when we layed down on the tile so that our stomachs wouldn´t crush our lungs! And it´s good food but she gives us sooo much! And if we don´t finish it, then we don´t like it! We ask her for un poco, but un poco here is 3 helpings instead of 5.
Everything else is fine, we go to Salamanca y Avila this weekend with the group...but only for the day. And Adam and Mark are trying to convince Megan and I to go see a bull fight in Madrid on Sunday...ehh. I feel obligated but I might pass out...watching it on TV (which by the way is always an option) is enough for me. We´ll see.
Hope all is well back home...I signed on again to write my column next semester and I got an email from an editor of an online magazine who liked one of my articles and wants to hire me as one of the college writers...we´ll see. Vida, Amor, Viaje
