On Friday, we had a second get together with the family at Sabine and Hans Juergen's house in Sechtem...a last hurrah with Germaine and Natalie before they left the following morning.
Sechtem is a wonderful little village which was first referenced in print in 1100 AD. Jill and Joelle (Sabine and HJ's girls, 9 and 11) get up in the morning and walk down the street to the bakery and buy fresh rolls for breakfast (except for Sundays, when they bake their own). These we eat with cured beef, prosciutto, salami, and various sorts of cheese. One of our favorites is pretzel rolls...like a pretzel, but made as a roll.
Food of the Day: Weisswurst (white sausage) fresh from the butcher, accompanied by sauerkraut made and delivered by the local chef, a friend of HJs. Lecker (delicious!)

I's sure getting hungry for all that yummy sounding food. Guess I go eat something from a cereal box or a wilted carrot! Love Auntie Marta
