Well last time we left you we were in Victoria, just having golfed Bear Mountain, the Jack Nicalaus course there. The next morning we got up, packed up camp and headed into Victoria. The first thing we did was find Mile Zero, as I mentioned in the last entry. It was a cool place ... a bit hard to find but basically you just keep following the Trans-Canada straight through town, through a little neighbourhood, and eventually you come to the end of the street, and the ocean. There lies a big sign by CAA that states "Mile Zero - Victoria, BC". We got some good pictures. Also there are a few plaques and statues there - one of Terry Fox, even though he didn't make it all the way to Victoria from Newfoundland. Very cool place. Then we headed back into downtown and lined up for the ferry to Port Angeles, Washington (to get us to Seattle). I had been a cheapo and didn't make a reservation since it was an extra 20 bucks, figuring that noon would be trying to get to Seattle on a weekday. We were one of the last cars to get on the boat!! That almost messed up the day! Anyway after we'd parked the car in line we had an hour or 2 to tour around Victoria. Very nice city, except it was raining. Probably fitting since I hear it rains alot there. We visited the Fairmont Emperess downtown, which was nice but not as cool as some of the others we'd seen. We walked around town and checked out a few shops ... really nice city. So we got on the boat and then drove the rest of the way to Seattle, actually taking another ferry right into downtown, then out to the KOA campground. We met up with a buddy of mine, Dave, and his lady Julie who live in Seattle now. We got an awesome tour of the city, saw their cool place that looks right out over the waterfront, got to try out some awesome restaurants, and had a wicked time. We did an underground tour of the city in the afternoon of the next day which explained a lot of the history and was wicked. That night we even all teed it up for a game of golf. After 2 holes I think Dave and I were tied, and I felt the need to put the pressure on. On the par 3 3rd hole, I stuck my tee shot to about 2 feet. Beat that, I thought to myself. So Dave steps up and hits his shot, which without even bouncing, flies straight into the hole!!! First hole in one I'd ever seen!! What an awesome shot! Too bad I was one back after that hole!!!! Thanks Dave and Julie for an awesome visit!! The next two days were spent taking our time getting to Yellowstone National Park ... Steph is going to tell you about that one in the next entry!!
