greek salads

made it to santorini...a greek island in the cyclades turns out that greece is more expensive than i remember it...sorry to dwell on cost but that is very important to the 'desirability' of a country...last time i was here 3 years ago (this is jer speaking) it was with mattu and eric and we were stoked on how cheap greece was...sweet resturants and wine and nice food etc for like 10 bucks...

now the resturauants are still very nice and the views are excellent but the dinners and everyting are twice as i remeber them...probably 'goldenizing' my memmories...oh well

so we took a long ass ferry ride from rodes..it took a total of 20 hours after we told that it would take 15...i guess that is par for the course so far

it was ok cause we could streatch out under the seats...

so we got off the ferry and just got attacked by people trying to sell us rooms...after a 15 min of sweating agressive negociating we settled on a place almost in fira which is the main town which all the famous pictures are from...

that night we had a very nice dinner with an exellent view today we took a bus down to the 'red beach' which was ok but a little too hot for these kids...hopefully spain will be a little cooler

since last time i was in greece i have found the food better than before... the greek salads are the bombsquad they are mostly cut tomatos, cucumbers and onions in oil and vinegar with lots of feta cheese...mmm...last time here i didnt like them but this time i love them...i guess different tast buds...???

so tomorrow we do the tour of the volcano and the hot springs and all that...where last time eric fell down on the boat trying to sit in his seat...yea in your face carslile!

so before i go, i have to describe the last night in turkey since i have not done the entry for a while...

so, after many drinks, i decided to go to the 'turkish bath' in marmaris, turkey so here is how a turkish bath works

i went in there...and they direct you to a big marble room with a big square upraised 'seat' in the middle

it is the temp of a sauna and i sat in there for about 1 half hour....sweating and waiting and figuring they for got about me...they have a super cold shower so i would jump in ther about every 5 min to cool down and im in there totally naked when the guy comes in to scrub me down and i say oh hey there..

hey says 'lay down'... im a little bit scared but i lay down and then he uses this kind of brillo pad on a glove to scrub your back, front and every where in between...

so after that they have you shower to wash off all the dead skin and have you go up stairs where they give you a massage...same thing...there i am totally naked and being pummeled by a very muscular half naked turk...

over all the experience was great... i would do it again in a heart beat... anyway...i have been rambling and the back street boyz are playing at this internet cafe so it is time to sign off
