Saturday 15th July 2006 ~ A new day dawns…..
An exciting day, new smells , new gardens, new sounds and calls. Angus and I set off early as the sun rose to explore our new temporary territory. Inside the villa M had got all the aircon units on and with the cool marble tiled floors it was doggy heaven for reducing the panting level.
A quick whiz round the gardens gave us lots of new places to mark our territory as all self respecting dogs do. Still not sure what to make of the big bath in the garden. It looks nice and enticing with a nice blue tiles. I am not sure though if it would be a bit like paddling in the sea at Norfolk. Angus and I make pact there and then that we would do everything possible to avoid contact…we would leave that one to the humans…before we know it they will be making us have a bath which is never high on our agenda!
We had a nice tasty breakfast of frankfurter and biscuit….we could get used to this!
Then M & D sat down and ran through the day’s agenda. M & M should be arriving from their delayed flight at about midday and my favourite dog sitters…M’s mum & step dad should be arriving at about 7 o’clock in the evening together with M’s friend Claire. D would collect M & M and the Costa del Sol team would pick up the other party. However the daughters of the Costa del Sol team would come over earlier to have fun in the big blue bath.
We went for a stroll around the neighbourhood , viewing all the luxury villas built within the area. M reckoned they must have costa a lot of money (get it?!). Funnily enough though they had very English sounding names Like ‘Camelot’ and ‘Park Manor’ Lots of people running around tending to the gardens to keep them nice and green…obviously no hose pipe ban here although apart from the sea there did not seem to be an awful lot of water around. The other we noticed was a lot of signs saying security response service with a mean looking silhouette of a snarling dog. Seems funny to us that you have to send for a man and a dog to help you out of a problem……
The costa del sol ‘gorgeous girls’ arrive and there ensued a bit of hugging and patting of us and then ‘spash!’ they are into the pool swimming around laughing and giggling . Angus and I retreat to the nearest bit of shade we can find as we are not too partial to bathing or getting wet.
Eventually everyone arrives and we have another great BBQ watching the sun go down over the beautiful coastline and more sausages and steak in our direction…lovely stuff!
Tommorrow our 4 more friends will arrive from Wanndsworth Common ,London a mum and dad and two teenage mini adults…so it will be a busy week ahead for everyone.
